Since 2011, I have been working in the real estate sector as a property consultant, where home buyers and sellers have identified several key skills and qualities they highly value in real estate agents. Among the most important are honesty and integrity, knowledge of the purchase process, responsiveness, and a thorough understanding of the real estate market. Communication and negotiation skills also rank highly on clients' lists of priorities. While many additional skills, such as people skills and technical skills, play a role in a successful real estate career, these core attributes are paramount. Although technology skills might appear less prioritized, they become relevant, especially when initial interactions with clients occur primarily through digital channels. Other vital skills that support these primary qualities include active listening, customer service, interpersonal skills, leadership, management, problem-solving, time management, and transferable skills.
